Stopped by for a drink after work and seemed like a really nice spot. Warm and the atmosphere was fantastic. We only stopped for a drink on the way home but the menu looked really reasonable (the table next to us ordered food and it looked incredible so we'll be coming back very soon for pizza/tenders).
There was one guy behind the bar was too busy chatting with his friend and not interested with serving me, but the woman serving was great. Looking forward to returning.

Called in for a couple of pints of the black stuff and sat outside in the unseasonably warm February weather service and atmosphere was good the food looked basic but nice as it was mainly pizzas and chips ect.

Dropped in off the cuff while passing. Lovely pint and cracking 14" pizza for £12 on a Sunday. Nice atmosphere. Loved the old style range oven fire warming the room.

Planned our day around ackworth as a new and 'friendly' place to go. Planned the day around having lunch in the boot and shoe only to find out they aren't serving food on boxing day. So we spent a few 100 pounds in there and ordered a pizza to eat in the beer garden.
When the food arrives the manager/landlady was outside collecting glasses and said straight away that we could not eat our food in 'her pub' because she refuses to clean up after us. I agreed and said we wouldn't leave any mess, despite the fact that the pub was full of people eating their own sandwiches and snorting cocaine!!!!!!!!
Our pizza was more offensive than the people selling and taking cocaine whilst in there!!!
She then came out again and told us we needed to be the other side of the fence because of the grease caused by the pizzas! They sell pizza, that was part of the reason we visited.
When we left we ensured all of our rubbish was removed but we will not be spending our money or our time in a place that made us feel so unwelcome!
Or in a place that puts drug using and money before community and friendliness!
Merry Christmas

Tuesday evening, we went for the £12 pint and pizza deal.
Service at the bar was slow and initially was ignored by one member of staff, whilst another served drinks and food orders.
The people being served just before me also ordered pizza and theirs arrived around 45 minutes later.
By the time we had been waiting an hour, I went in to find out what was happening with our order. Having checked in the kitchen first, the member of staff apologised profusely - they had been very busy, but our pizzas were in the oven and would be 2 minutes.
Given that the people in front of us received their pizza 15 minutes previously, I can only conclude that either the kitchen is abysmally slow or that other people received their orders ahead of us and the kitchen is in disarray.
Pizza finally arrived around the 65 to 70 minute mark. My partner enjoyed her pizza, but said that it was like the pizza had been cooked and the toppings thrown on afterwards, as onions and mushrooms were raw.
It was similar for the meat on my pizza. The base was hot and cooked, but the meat was cold.
Has potential, refurb looks good etc, but the kitchen and bar service really need to step up.
Having been excited to try this pub, I doubt I'll return.
Parking: Small and tight car park. Ended up parking on the road outside the nearby Chinese takeaway

Boot & Shoe, Ackworth looks fab after recent refurb outside area, done a great job. Service at bar not so good, barmaid ratty & short tempered, especially when we didn’t know our table number (cos we hadn’t seated yet) just walked in & wanted to order the pizza & pint option. Felt unwelcome and rushed which is a shame as we’ve always lived in the village so it’s one of our locals. Food great, Frosty Barmaid….customer service is everything 🤷🏼♀️

We dropped in after visiting nostel priory, they were very busy but squeezed us in and even let us order food even though they had just stopped serving. The lady in charge was lovely, friendly and very helpful, to top it off the wood fire pizza was beautiful, I would definitely come again.
